A Workshop for Students

For recent college graduates and students preparing to graduate, the future holds many questions. What is the next step? How do I transition into the professional world? How do I create an exceptional resume that will attract the attention of potential employers? What can I do to "shine" during an interview? Campus to Career provides answers to these questions and many more.

If you would like to know how to present yourself to potential employers and learn about the next stages of your development from student to professional, then the Campus to Career workshop is for you! This exceptional, one-week program is full of helpful advice and skills that will assist you in landing your first professional position after college.

In the beautiful and historic scenery of the nation's capital, an experienced team of professionals will help you develop the skills you need to launch your career and succeed. Through mock interviews, panels, and group discussions, you will explore topics from resume building, interviewing, and making informed career decisions to business etiquette and crucial networking skills. The workshop will not only help you develop vital professional skills, but also it will offer strategies for personal financial management and tips on paying off those student loans!

Attendees of the workshop will walk away with a renewed confidence in their abilities and a plan for taking the exciting next step in life. You have spent years earning a degree, and now it is time to see how it will work for you.


Workshop Schedule

January 7-11, 2007
Registration will be Sunday, January 7, 2007 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The program will begin Sunday evening. Daily sessions will start at 9:00 am and end around 5:00 pm. The program will conclude at Noon on January 11.

Deadlines and Fees

The deadlines and fees for January 2007 are as follows:
Early bird registration deadline November 28 $500
Regular registration deadline December 19 $600

Shared apartment housing for four nights (optional) $300

The registration fee includes all workshop materials. Students will be responsible for all transportation costs, meals, and personal expenses.


Housing Options

Students have a choice of housing arrangements. Upon acceptance to the program they will make their selection.

Option #1: WII maintains student apartments in the Crystal City neighborhood of Northern Virginia. The apartments feature two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, dining area, kitchen and balcony. Four students share each apartment. The apartments are a five-minute walk to a MetroRail (subway) station that provides easy access to downtown Washington, DC.

Option #2: Students may arrange their own housing at the hotel of their choice.


Travel Information

Washington, DC is serviced by three airports: Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), and Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI).

Insurance

All participants must have health insurance for the duration of the program.


Payment and Cancellation Policy

All registrations are being handled by ACPA. Registration can be paid by check (payable to ACPA) VISA, MasterCard, or American Express. All fees must be prepaid. Purchase orders are not accepted.

Refunds will be given for cancellations, received in writing at ACPA by December 19, less a $25 processing fee. After December 19, there are no refunds. ACPA reserves the right to charge a service fee of $20 for returned checks. A processing fee of $20 pre-registration will be charged for credit cards declined or to change payment methods after the initial payment is processed. Registrations are non-transferable.

The course may be cancelled or postponed due to insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. In this case, the fees will be fully refunded; however, ACPA and WII will not be responsible for other additional costs, charges or expenses, including cancellation/change charges accessed by airlines and/or travel agencies.
