You’ll gain skills around how to feel balanced\, aligned\, and able to genuinely enjoy your work while having the energy to do your best work. Strengths University understands the challenges\, the frustrations\, and the joys of leading a team. We also use a wholistic approach\, because supervisors are more than their supervisor role. Yet\, we often waste our energy working on things that aren’t productive – or in ways that are productive. That leaves you feeling exhausted at work and at home. In this first week\, we’ll talk about how to better protect your energy\, so you can use it for the things that are most important to you.\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Discovering your authentic leadership style\nThe greatest leaders aren’t good at everything. They focus their energy on their strengths and surround themselves with folks who excel in other areas. You’ll discover your own authentic leadership style\, one that stems from your unique talents. Once you know who you are as a leader\, you can better manage your energy and prioritize your time.\n\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Understanding your Strengths\nYour talents impact how you interact with the world. When you use your talents productively\, they can drive you and your team to new levels of success. But what most people don’t know is your talents can just as easily show up as weaknesses. You’ll learn how to better manage your talents\, so your more effective and productive.\n\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				coaching your team\n\nEmployees want a coach. Developing a system to consistently coach your team is one of the most effective things you can do as a supervisor. Coaching improves team performance and productivity. You’ll learn how to coach your team\, so you can help them focus their energy on their talents and give them opportunities for development.\n\n\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Stress & Self-Care\nSupervisors experience more stress than the folks they supervise. Left unchecked\, it will negatively impact how you show up as a supervisor. Self-care isn’t just a buzzword\, it’s crucial for your success and wellbeing. You’ll learn the real impact of stress and how to develop a daily self-care practice that will allow you to be more effective.\n\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Performance Management\n\nOne of the most challenging parts of a supervisor’s job is managing your team’s performance. Unfortunately\, managing performance can be stressful when you don’t have an effective system. You’ll learn how to set clear expectations and hold folks accountable\, whether it’s celebrating successes or dealing with failure.\n\n\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				managing change\nOne of the things we hear from everyone is “there’s been a lot of change here.” Change is inevitable\, and often stressful. Throughout the Institute\, you’ll discover ways you and your team can improve. This week\, you’ll learn to roll out those changes in a way that minimizes stress to you and your team and increases your chance of success.\n\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				implementing change\n\nThe last week of the Institute is focused on action. You’ll review what you’ve learned in the first seven weeks\, then develop your path forward\, with consideration to the specific needs of your institution. You’ll also get a better understanding of how your Talent Themes are showing up so you can better manage them\, so you can be more effective\, productive\, and have a better sense of wellbeing.\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Week 4 | Team Dynamics\nOne of the most powerful ways to use CliftonStrengths is by developing a well-rounded and high-functioning team. In this module\, you’ll learn how to better maximize your team’s energy by delegating and creating complementary partnerships. You’ll better understand how to use your collective Talent Themes to be more productive.\n\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Week 2 | The 34 Talent Themes\nOne of the biggest obstacles for many people in implementing a Strengths-based approach is feeling overwhelmed about all the Talent Themes. In this module\, you’ll learn about all 34 Talent Themes\, so you’ll better understand other’s Themes and feel more comfortable having conversations about using Strengths every day.\n\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Week 5 | Strengths-Based Communication\n\nNo matter what your goals are\, if you and your team aren’t communicating well amongst yourselves\, students\, or other key stakeholders\, you’re not going to be successful. You’ll learn how to better communicate so you can clearly set expectations\, hold people accountable\, and establish trust between you and the people you lead.\n\n\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Week 3 | Defining Your Strengths Zone\nYou’ll have the opportunity to discover how your Strengths work together so you can maximize how they show up for you. You’ll create a personalized statement that will help you stay focused on your Strengths Zone. You’ll also learn about the Four Domains that will help you better focus your energy and set the stage to build more effective teams.\n\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Week 6 | Strengths-Based Conflict Resolution\n\nConflict seems to be everywhere these days. Even the best teams will have conflict at some point. Unfortunately\, most people aren’t comfortable with conflict and would rather put things off instead of addressing the issue. You’ll learn how to better navigate conflict yourself and be better able to mediate conflict between others.\n\n\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Week 7 | Integrating Strengths Within Your Team or Organization\nAnother challenge many folks face is exactly how to move past the basics to truly create a Strengths-based culture. You’ll learn how to integrate Strengths into programming\, advising\, and during daily interactions so that it sticks. You’ll get tangible steps on how to add a Strengths-based approach with what you’re already doing.\n\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Week 8 | Implementing Change\n\n\nThe last week of the Academy is focused on action. You’ll review what you’ve learned in the first seven weeks\, then develop your path forward\, with consideration to the specific needs of your team and organization.
