DESCRIPTION:Disrupting the Empty Vessel Hypothesis: Critically Engaging White Students\nTHURSDAY\, 26 JUNE 2025 // 1:00PM – 2:00PM ET\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Educating white students about racism and racial identities is an important facet of development and vital for disrupting racist violence. However\, many educators treat white students as if they are empty vessels\, merely awaiting knowledge about race and racism. Drawing on insights from their forthcoming book\, this session challenges the empty vessel approach by leveraging presenters’ scholarship about white students’ racial socialization to translate theory into practice.
