SUMMARY:Growing Knowledge Series: Success of Recent Black Graduates
DESCRIPTION:Growing Knowledge Series: Success of Recent black graduates\npresented in partnership by the communities of practice\n \nwednesday\, 5 november 2025 | 1:00-2:00pm ET\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Growing Knowledge Series (GKS) creates a pathway for those who have completed their dissertation\, but never published\, to share their scholarship with the profession through a hosted webinar. This collaborative effort of our three Communities of Practice is positioned to benefit practitioners and scholars alike\, creating a space to share new knowledge frequently left on the shelf. \nJoin Dr. Jennifer D. Smith for a presentation that explores the lived experiences of recent Black graduates from a Midwest podiatric medical education program. Drawing from a qualitative study\, this research reveals how these graduates navigated the environment and succeeded; highlighting key findings that underscore the crucial role of both personal resilience and support systems in their success. The study’s findings\, framed by Astin’s (1991) I-E-O Model and Harper’s (2010) Anti-Deficit Achievement Framework\, offer valuable insights for improving recruitment\, retention\, and the overall experience of underrepresented students in podiatric medicine. \nThis webinar is presented in partnership by ACPA’s Communities of Practice. \n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration information:\n\nComplimentary for ACPA Individual Members\n$10 for ACPA Chapter Only Members\n$10 for Non-Members\n$5 for International Non-Members (must currently reside outside the continental United States and Hawaii)\n\n \n REGISTER TODAY

SUMMARY:ACPA2GO: Ten Steps Towards Greater Operational Efficiency in Higher Education: An Administrator Playbook
DESCRIPTION:Ten Steps Towards Greater Operational Efficiency in Higher Education: An Administrator Playbook\nThursday\, 13 November 2025 // 1:00PM – 2:00PM ET\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n How effectively a manager leads and performs in their role cannot be predicted by the number of degrees they hold\, their grades\, or experience level within any number of departments or organizations. Unfortunately\, most managers are not taught in formal education programs what they most need to know to effectively operate any given functional area. While several models for “good” supervision in student affairs are described in the literature (Upcraft\, 1988; Winston & Creamer\, 1998\, Janosik et al.\, 2003; Stock-Ward & Javorek\, 2003)\, none provide sufficient context to address the complex nature of higher education organizations or meet the goals and objectives outlined of a particular functional area. \nThe goal of this session is to provide a framework (and reference point) for new\, mid-level and senior leaders to create a strong internal infrastructure for any functional area they may oversee. Drawing from the experience of two seasoned leaders in higher education\, the presenters will review ten infrastructural components that are necessary to create a fully functional\, efficient\, and student centered organization. Examples of components include creation of an organizational chart\, communication and collaboration strategies\, creation and measurement of metrics and finally\, strategic planning. Finally\, participants will learn practical strategies and tools they can implement to become more effective leaders. \n \n Register Now\n \n \n \n \n \n \nACPA Individual Member – $10\nACPA International Member – $5\nNon-Member – $20\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Presented by:\nCarlos Gooden\, PhDCollege Counselor\, Collegewise \nMike Hoffshire\, PhDAssistant Dean\, Admissions & Student Affairs\, University of California\, Berkeley \n \n \n \n \n \n PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES\nPersonal and Ethical Foundations\nOrganizational and Human Resource\nLeadership\nAdvising and Supporting\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n In order to qualify for member rates for an ACPA2GO webinar\, membership with ACPA must be valid through the scheduled webinar date. SUMMARY:AI Across Campus: What the GenAI Survey Means for Student Affairs
DESCRIPTION:AI Across campus: what the genAI survey means for student affairs\npresented by the commission for assessment & evaluation (CAE)\nwednesday\, 19 november 2025 | 4:00-5:00pm ET\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArtificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping higher education at an astonishing pace\, though its realities look different across academic and student affairs. Presenters will share data-driven insights\, highlight practical strategies for ethical and effective use\, and invite discussion on how findings may translate differently for student affairs versus academic affairs in advancing student success. Attendees will leave with concrete examples\, resources for professional upskilling\, and a chance to reflect on what AI’s rise means for their own work. As we are in community with each other\, we not only learn valuable information about ourselves\, but we also gain important perspectives about the world through our friendships.
