Utilizing a Critical Theory of Love In Our Social Justice Work
23 September 2026 // 2:00PM – 3:00PM ET
What would it mean to center love—not as sentiment, but as strategy—in our justice work? Grounded in Black liberation theology and Black feminist thought, this session explores how Western constructs of love uphold oppression and limit our capacity for transformation. Participants will engage a Critical Theory of Love framework to interrogate how we’ve been socialized by love, and how we might reclaim it as a tool for healing, accountability, and liberation in educational and social justice practice.
