ACPA-College Student Educators International is committed to your privacy. ACPA strongly believes that if electronic commerce and online activities are to flourish, consumers must be assured that information provided online is used responsibly and appropriately. To protect online privacy, ACPA has implemented the following policy.
Use and Disclosure of Personal Information
ACPA will not collect any personal information that you do not voluntarily share with us. We are the sole owner of all information collected on this site. The ACPA website has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse and unauthorized alteration of all personal information provided to the site. Any use and/or disclose of personal information will be conducted solely in order to:
- serve and support users of ACPA
- manage and develop ACPA business and operations;
- understand and meet the needs and preferences of ACPA users;
- develop new and enhance existing service and product offerings; and
- meet legal and regulatory requirements
We also reserve the right to use or disclose anonymously generated user aggregate data.
In the event of a user using the products and services of ACPA as a part of their role as an employee, contractor or agent of an organization, ACPA reserves the right to provide said organization and its duly appointed representatives access to any personal information collected by ACPA.
To be able to serve our users, personal information may be collected, stored, processed or otherwise used by or on our behalf both inside and outside of Canada by third party service providers, or by companies in the ACPA corporate family, to perform functions on our behalf. As a result, that country’s courts, governments or law enforcement agencies may obtain disclosure of such information under that country’s laws.
By using our website, you give ACPA permission to collect information about the pages served to you as an anonymous user for the purpose of calculating aggregate site statistics. When registering for professional development opportunities, we may use information in order to provide information about programs and services of interest to you.
ACPA may provide third parties with aggregate statistics about our members, traffic patterns, and related site information. This data reflects site usage patterns gathered during member visits to our website each month but does not contain behavioral or identifying information about any individual. We may also provide log files and other databases of user information to third parties for analysis, so we can get a better understanding of traffic through our site and thus improve our content offerings. ACPA also may use third party companies to provide delivery of e-mail newsletters and other messages over e-mail. ACPA uses a third-party company to provide the single sign on (SSO) capability for ACPA members, but retains guest information independent from that third-party platform.
We use reasonable precautions to keep the personal information you disclose both in your browsing and your purchases, and to only release this information to third parties we believe share our commitment to privacy. However, we are not responsible for any breach of security or for the actions of these parties.
Withdrawal of Consent
Except as required by law, we will not use or disclose any personal information for any purpose for which you refuse us consent or later withdraw your consent. If you withdraw consent, you agree that in spite of this withdrawal we may continue to use the personal information previously provided to us, in the manner stated above, to the extent that we are contractually obligated to do so. You also understand that personal information is necessary for us to provide some services. If you refuse to provide us with the information we require or later withdraw your consent to use and disclose this information, we may no longer be able to provide you with these services.
