Who Gets to Take Up Space? A Spatial Approach to Belonging

Belonging takes shape in the spaces students move through, create, and return to. This session invites student affairs educators to ask a spatial question: where on campus do students experience connection, recognition, and full participation? Drawing on narrative research with Black African immigrant students, participants will practice campus mapping and qualitative assessment approaches for locating where belonging happens and reading that evidence alongside survey data. Attendees will leave with tools for assessing the geography of belonging and designing environments that cultivate student thriving

ACPA2Go registration purchases are final. Registrations can be paid by check, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express. All fees must be prepaid. Purchase orders are not accepted. ACPA reserves the right to charge a service fee of US$50 for returned checks. Registrations are non-transferable. The webinar may be canceled or postponed due to insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. In this case, the fees will be fully refunded.
