acpa position on Immigrant & International Students

ACPA advocates for the promotion of equal and safe opportunities in higher education for people from around the world. With concern for the future of international and immigrant students in the US, we encourage robust efforts from higher education professionals and lawmakers alike to combat the discrimination and xenophobia that immigrants may face on college campuses.

ACPA represents members from college student education backgrounds, student affairs professionals, and the students they serve. We will continue to mobilize compassion and voice our belief in the value of diversity and inclusion in higher education.

We encourage our members to recognize their role in understanding the challenges facing their immigrant students. As higher education and student affairs professionals, we must be committed to changing campus culture to accommodate and include international and immigrant students.

ACPA recognizes that more advocacy and education is needed to shift the narrative on immigration. We will continue to collaborate with institutions of higher education to stand in solidarity with international and immigrant students on college campuses across the nation.
