The Journal of College Student Development (JCSD) seeks nominations and applications for two of its Editorial Boards.
- The JCSD Editorial Board (ED) is for established scholars with a publication record.
- The Research in Brief (RIB) Review Board (RB) is for advanced doctoral students and starting scholars and will review shorter RIB manuscripts.
Both boards have three-year term commitment beginning January 2025. JCSD has a history of bringing diverse topics and methodologies to the forefront of higher education and student affairs research. For this reason, we seek reviewers who understand how social identities influences the scholarly process.
Reviewers will be responsible for the rigorous double-masked review process that is vital to the quality of our journal. JCSD is published six times a year and accepts fewer than 10% of the manuscripts submitted each year.
Editorial Board members are expected to review 8-10 manuscripts per year and RIB members 3-4, including over the summer. Self-nominations are welcomed. Individuals with established publication records and advanced methodological expertise are particularly encouraged to apply for the ED. This year the ED will be selecting multiple Board members.
To apply, complete this form and upload a brief 1 page letter of interest and your resume/CV as a single file. The brief letter of interest should highlight 1) your scholarly and methodological expertise and 2) how your positionalities influence scholarly approaches and process. The letter of interest should not be more than 1 page.
Application materials are due Friday, 23 August 2024. Selection is scheduled to be completed by the end of September 2024, at which time selected members will be asked to complete a brief zoom or PowerPoint training.
