The ACPA Commission for Assessment and Evaluation (CAE) is currently recruiting assessment-minded professionals to serve on our Directorate Board!

The ACPA Commission for Assessment and Evaluation (CAE) is currently recruiting assessment-minded professionals to serve on our Directorate Board! We have the following open positions: 

  • Chair-Elect beginning with the 2026 ACPA Convention (elected) 
  • 5 Directorate positions open beginning with the 2026 ACPA Convention (elected) 
  • 1 Chair Position for the Student Affairs Assessment Institute (appointed). 

 

WHY APPLY FOR THE CAE DIRECTORATE BOARD?

  • You’re ready to take a leadership role in student affairs assessment, influencing the direction of the field through research and/or service!
  • You want to meet and collaborate with other professionals who share your passion for assessment.
  • You’re interested in learning more about ACPA and future professional development opportunities.

 

HOW DO THE GENERAL DIRECTORATE BOARD ELECTIONS WORK?

  • With the exception of the Student Affairs Assessment Institute Chair, all positions are elected by current CAE members. 
  • Submit the nomination form by November 10, 2025. 
  • Between December 2-10 all CAE members are invited to vote on candidates to the Directorate Board via an email sent from ACPA.
  • The five top candidates receive spots on the Directorate Board. Specific roles are assigned after election based on member expertise and interest. 

 

HOW IS THE STUDENT AFFAIRS ASSESSMENT INSTITUTE CHAIR POSITION POSITION APPOINTED? 

  • Note that this person must commit to being able to attend the 2027 Student Affairs Assessment Institute (SAAI). Hotel and registration are paid for by ACPA.
  • Submit the nomination form and a resume by November 10, 2025
  • The SAAI Chair will be appointed by the CAE Chair, CAE-Past Chair, and the current Chair of SAAI. Criteria include experience with faculty, event planning, and student affairs assessment expertise. 

 

CAE DIRECTORATE BOARD TIMELINE

  • October 13 – November 10,  2025: CAE Nomination Form Open
  • December 2 – 10, 2025: Elections for elected positions
  • Week of January 12 – 16, 2026: Election results shared with candidates
  • Week of February 23-27, 2026:  New Member Orientation

FAQS

Q: What is the term length? 

A: Three years

 

Q: I’m not an ACPA member. Can I still apply? 

A: Yes! You do not have to be an ACPA to apply for the Directorate Board. If you are elected/appointed to the Directorate Board, you will be expected to purchase a membership (if you don’t already have one) within two months. 

 

Q: May graduate students serve on the Directorate Board? 

A: Yes! We welcome folks at all stages of their careers who are ready to have a leadership role in student affairs assessment. 

 

Q: I would like to join the CAE Directorate Board, but I am not sure which position makes sense for me.

A: Please apply! The CAE leadership team will work with you to find a good fit. 

 

Q: Do I have to attend ACPA Convention to be on the Directorate Board? 

A: No – only the Chair and Chair Elect of the CAE Directorate Board are required to attend Convention.
